So yes, the comic waits for finishing edits while the infinitely more pressing matters of finals, vacation planning and watching old episodes of Running Man takes precedence. So here is a sketch of wooden protective ducks from Korea instead. Also, life is good regardless of circumstantial feelings.
So... yeah. Working on final edits for 'Sickled' so posting has been delayed. An Ethics midterm and church project need to be worked on in conjunction, so now my self-imposed deadline is Wed. Instead, here is the rock pool at Ladybug Falls. Pretty much my favorite place on this planet... trust that this is significantly more impressive than the upcoming hackneyed 12 pages. And, as a side note, if you ever need to contact United Airlines customer service don't call their listed number. The number of times I was transferred to a supervisor, told conflicting information, and then immediately hung up on was egregious. Persistence does pay however and my once $600 plane ticket is now $40, thanks to the phone line that supposedly didn't exist. 800.932.2732. I don't know why I get so excited posting "secrets" to myself, but I do. Because I love lists, and also talking to myself. The reasoning behind this terribly self-serving post is that although I feel more motivated and productive now than I have in a long time, if I make a list of things to do (for accountability) in this "public" forum I will be more likely to follow through. Let's see how it goes.
Project: "Sickled" - Very short comic. Deforestation, Malaria, and Sickle-Cell Anemia in West Africa. Really just an excuse to draw viruses attacking red blood cells for a couple pages. Posting here 5/3 Next Project: Painting for my Parents' 34 year wedding anniversary. Also doing double-duty as a submission to a painting contest for my school (the eminently prestigious Los Angeles Pierce College). Ever seen those Korean movie posters from the 1970's? Yeah, like that. Reading: The Corrections by J.Franzen (thanks C. Lee), and The Cost of Discipleship by D. Bonhoeffer |
